Ripple, which fought the XRP lawsuit filed by the SEC for many years and finally won, continues to make new investments. At this point, finally, Ripple Labs announced that it will invest $5 million in Asia-Pacific blockchain research. Ripple Labs announced in a blog post that it plans to allocate an additional $5 million to advance blockchain research and nurture talent in the Asia-Pacific region. As part of the six-year collaboration, UBRI donated $1.1 million to Yonsei University in South Korea and $1.5 million in total to Kyoto University and the University of Tokyo in Japan. “Ripple’s generous UBRI grant significantly enhances our research and development efforts and enables us to pursue high-impact projects,” said Yang Liu, Professor at the School of Computer and Data Science at Nanyang Technological University. “With our current grant, we are developing an AI tool on XRP Ledger to build a transparent, modular, accessible and collaborative AI platform leveraging blockchain technology. This support also allows us to bring more students and researchers into the blockchain ecosystem by enabling them to contribute to the development and growth of XRPL, thus advancing our blockchain education initiatives.” *This is not investment advice.
